GST School Leaders Conference - Day One

On the 22nd May, school leaders from within the Trust, gathered with members of the central team for our much anticipated annual teaching and leadership residential conference.

Our conference was opened with worship and liturgy led by the Diocesan Director of Education, Alex Tear. We used Psalm 23 to focus our thoughts and to ask God to be with us, as we lead our schools and ask for wisdom and support in being a good shepherd to others.

The afternoon session provided everyone with the opportunity to get to know one another and creating 2 minute elevator pitches about each of the 16 schools that reside within the Trust. We then went on to explore the values of the Trust in detail and to consider how they are lived out within each individual academy. We thought deeply about how we know we're having a positive impact on every child that we currently serve and will serve in the future.

We considered where the Trust is now, where we want to be in 5 years time and how each member of the Trust family has a role to play in embedding the work that has already been completed and leading on that which is to come.

As we moved into the evening, there was time for networking, prayer and reflection, supported by each school creating a prayer or worship area.

We are looking forward to day two, where we will be joined by our associate schools...
