What We Do
Our Vision
“flourishing together.”
our mission
“To build communities where all children and adults flourish.”
our core gst values:
• Kindness: The quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate towards others. It involves showing compassion and empathy, often through small acts that make a big difference.
• Integrity: The practice of being honest and having strong moral principles. It means doing the right thing even when no one is watching and maintaining consistency between our words and actions.
• Resilience: The ability to recover quickly from difficulties
We are experiencing significant change locally, nationally, and globally. As a trust with a deep foundation in Christian values, we aim to support the Church of England’s broad vision for education and enable all our schools to flourish, whether Church schools or not. We recognise that the education landscape is changing and, as a trust, we are shaping a strategy in response to the many challenges and opportunities of the next five years.
We consider the following two principles central to our approach as we shape a strategy that promotes the Christian distinctiveness of many of our schools, whilst holding a welcoming and inclusive approach to all schools interested in joining GST:
1) One body, many parts – 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 As we work together as GST, we recognise the uniqueness of each of our schools. As the passage states, we are together so “that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honoured, all rejoice together.” We are together in all circumstances, supporting each other through difficult phases and rejoicing in our successes. We are one trust seeking equity, celebrating our diversity, fully inclusive and loving justice: Flourishing together.
2) The Good Samaritan – Luke 10:25-37 “Who is my neighbour?” GST is a trust that seeks to support children, schools, organisations, and individuals who would benefit, both within and outside our trust. We sponsor academies that need intensive support and can provide leadership or school improvement services to schools that need them. We will not walk past our neighbour; we seek to stop and help.
We firmly believe that we are stronger together as a group of schools of all shapes and sizes. We aim to ensure that we continue to build on the success of recent years. In addition to flourishing schools, we seek to support our communities and ensure we are governed securely. These are times of exceptional technological advancement; we strive to manage this change positively and ensure that we capitalise on the opportunities: Precise change with predictable impact, where we proactively adapt our practice to meet a greater range of needs.
