Local Committees

Welcome from the Chair of the Trust Board

Welcome to The Good Shepherd Trust and thank you for volunteering to be a member of a local committee. Your time and commitment is very much appreciated and valued.

The Trust Board is keen for our local committees to have a deep knowledge of their school(s) to ensure that every child flourishes. Following the scheme of delegation, local committees have a clear direction to:

  • ensure compliance
  • support the vision and values of the Trust and the school(s)
  • identify risks and opportunities

Being a member of a local committee allows you a unique opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of the children in our schools, where the Trust values of kindness, integrity and resilience are central to helping our children at every stage of their educational journey.

The role of Local Committees: Scheme of Delegation

The Trust operates local committees through a Scheme of Delegation, which is available below Scheme of Delegation

All LC members are appointed by the Trust and are expected to perform their duties in accordance with a Code of Conduct. Declarations of interest are declared and reviewed at each LC meeting. Code of Conduct

In situations where rapid improvement of a school is required, Trustee Directors may choose to put in place an interim local committee to work alongside or replace the local committee.
